A Visit for Compassion

NSS unit of Keshav Mahavidhyalaya  organized a visit to the blind school, ‘Bharti Netraheen Kalyyan Parishad’ at Rohini Sector 17, where a group of students experienced the most beautiful part of their life by serving girls and women living there. The smiles on their faces carved a niche in the hearts of the students and they realized that the sole meaning of life is to serve humanity. Students were mesmerized by interacting with them which proved to be a great inspiration to one and all. To make them feel special and happy on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, students  brought cake for them and distributed gifts and fruits. The visit gave an insight to the conditions and life of those girls and women and has inculcated a feeling of gratitude and motivated them to do something for the betterment of their lives. Students understood the worth of a beautiful life and one can make it more beautiful by serving others selflessly. Students were very touched and promised to meet them on regular basis.

It was like a sunshine and alluring experience and lesson to all the volunteers that many people have everything still they aren't pleased but some people who have very few things to sustain their life are still happy and content with it.

“The best way to find your-self is to lose your-self in the service of others.”

Clothes Donation Drive

A clothes donation drive was organised by NSS unit of Keshav Mahavidyalaya from 5th January-19th January 2016. Keeping the motto high, “Let’s ensure that nobody dies of cold this winter”, students and staff participated with full vigour and enthusiasm and tried to help the unprivileged section by spreading some warmth in their lives. Drive was initially scheduled for ten days but the enthusiasm of keshavites led its extension for four more days. Students and staff were urged to donate their old clothes for needy. Students showed great interest and response was overwhelming. Faculty of the college also participated, inspiring the students to come up for such a noble cause. Collection bins were placed in amphitheater of the college. Everyday empty bins were placed in the morning and by the end of the day bins were overflowed with clothes. The clothes collected were donated to the nearby slums and footpaths. Going forth with the zealous spirit of youth, the NSS volunteers visited slum areas in Keshav puram, Kanhaiya Nagar, Shakurpur basti, Punjabi bagh, Kali mandir as well as Haiderpur and gifted smiles and warmth of clothes to the destitute. Such an endeavor bought the whole college together for contributing their bit to the society.

The cloth donation was a magnanimous success and showcased the goodwill of the college students  and NSS volunteers to propagate welfare of the society.
